Concept design to celebrate the ‘Golden Oldies’ typeface ‘American Typewriter’.
Celebrated by writers and known for it’s large distinctive ‘slabs’, I developed an event concept called ‘Slabulous’ and formed an identity. There would be an open mic’ night in a New York underground bar attended by a few celebrity writers and Milton Glaser the iconic designer. Old typewriters would be used to type an ‘ode to American typewriter’ and I designed a book that would house the ‘odes’ collected on the night. This was a brief from the Shillington Masterclass.
