Responsibly Gorgeous is an up-market second hand online clothing boutique. This small business is part of a bigger movement to consume less, produce less waste, and look after the environment. Discarded clothing can take hundreds of years to breakdown, which is a huge concern to the environmentally conscience. The co-owner Kate came to me to create a beautiful brand that hold its’ own against the big branded clothing stores online.
2019
I wanted to create something that was gender neutral, and strong. I also wanted to use a reference to recycling that people would instantly recognise. I created an stylised curved arrow as a nod to the recognisable recycle triangle, and then worked on customising a strong slab serif font to work in with it. The colour palette had to include green, as it aligns the brand to a more eco friendly way of purchasing clothing. I went with a dark forest green, and teamed it with a bright friendly palette to keep it modern and fresh. I looked at ways the unique arrow could help represent the brand by creating other graphics. I also explored photography styles and different formats of the brand mark for different applications.
