EMBA KITCHEN

+ Brand creation
+ Visual identity
+ Packaging design

EMBA Kitchen is a pro-bono Brandkind project, through their client FoodLab Sydney. Brandkind is a branding community I belong to, purpose-built for the social enterprise community. FoodLab Sydney is a not-for-profit kitchen incubator that supports food entrepreneurs from high-barrier backgrounds to grow and formalise their food businesses.

The brief was to re-design EMBA, a Lebanese street food brand run by Mani, a passionate foodie keen to build a family legacy by sharing her culture and beautiful food with Sydney. This brand needed to embody the essence of their brand and tagline ‘the warmth of a Lebanese home kitchen’. I am continuing to work with Brandkind and Mani, it has been a heart warming experience.

THE CONCEPT

The EMBA brand idea was based around beautiful Lebanese artisanal tiles. Mani the owner really wanted the branding to reflect Lebanon’s rich culture, so it was a beautiful fit. A custom tile design was created to house the name EMBA, an acronym for there four children’s names. This tile’s four corners each represent each one of her children, her family being her main inspiration for the business. Creating a legacy.

PACKAGING

EMBA shares their delicious food at the famous Sydney harbour Rocks markets, and also sells a few packaged food products they use within their dishes. Branded packaging labels were created to share their story, showcase the brand and professionalism whilst keeping a flexible design that would work across any new products easily. Bright colours were introduced alongside the traditional EMBA Lebanese colours, to bring out a bit of Mani’s vibrant personality.
